Our priorities in Morocco were predetermined by our longer-term interest in (food) stores. And we had no idea that Agadir, the city where we landed, means "fortified granary" in the Amazigh language. It was impossible to resist the number of them in the area, so - among other things - we went on a trip to see some of them.
Points of interest during this part of our journey:
▪️ City of Ait Baha - A small town to stay at when visiting the fortified granaries of Antiatlas
▪️ Imchguiguiln granary - The oldest fortified collective granary in the Antiatlas region
▪️ Souss Massa National Park - A natural area with local vegetation and animals (originally we actually intended to visit the Qued Massa entrance which is better to birdwatch)
▪️ Scenic viewpoint over the Youssef Ben Tachfine Dam
▪️ City of Tiznit - A market town on the west coast we unintendedly visited mistaking Inoummar by Inumar
▪️ Inoummar Collective Granary - Largest fortified collective granary in the Antiatlas region
▪️ Kasbah Tizourgane - An elevated fortified citadel (also a granary) and a hotel in the desert
