I went to Matsuzaki-cho, a small port town in Nishiizu known for Izu Chohachi and its namako-kabe streetscape. It's been seven years since I last visited Nishiizu Matsuzaki. I took paid leave and went on a four-night, four-day trip. After leaving work on Friday, I drove my Defender directly to Matsuzaki and spent the night in the car at the roadside station "Hana no Sanseien Izu Matsuzaki." On the first day, I walked around Matsuzaki Port, using Chohachi no Yado Sankoso, also in Matsuzaki Onsen, as my base, and the next day, I walked around the Kumomi and Ishibe areas, using Tairyo, a hot springs restaurant in Kumomi Onsen, as my base.
