In episode 5 of our Morocco vlog we travel to the ancient city of Fez. You can't visit Morocco without exploring the 9000 streets of Fes El Bali (Fez Medina).
A walking tour with a Morocco travel guide takes us through the vibrant Souks of Fes, passing by the Royal Palace & the historic Jewish Quarter of Fes El Jdid. We explore ancient Mosques, Universities and Madrasas, and take an inside look at the Maroc craftsmanship at a ceramics factory - you won't believe what we bought! Our journey also includes a visit to the iconic (and pungent) Chouara Tannery.
In our second day in Fez we explore the Medina without a guide, get lost in the maze of alleyways, do some shopping, eat traditional food, shop some more, and eventually find our way back to our incredible Fes Riad. Tonight's meal is one of the highlights of our visit to Fez - don't miss it!.
Our visit to Fez felt like stepping into a dream - a journey back in time, straight out of an adventure novel or movie. We hope this video offers you a glimpse into that enchanting world and inspires you to experience Fez for yourself.

🌍 Hi, we're Lydia & Chris, the Roving Balys!
🌍As an empty nest couple from Newcastle, Australia, we've traveled the world together for 30 years. We started this vlog to share our travel tales and showcase our beautiful region. We met traveling around Europe in 1995 and have since visited 50+ countries. We love discovering new places, meeting people, and trying local cuisines (including gluten-free options). Our journey has evolved from backpacking to family travel, and now back to couple adventures. With the kids doing their own thing, we're ready to dust off our backpacks (now suitcases) and start new adventures. So grab a cup of coffee and come roving with us!
