In episode 3 of our Morocco vlog we travel to the Blue City of Chefchaouen: "Blue Pearl" of Morocco. We join a walking tour, photograph blue streets, explore the Kasbah & hike to the Spanish Mosque in the Rif Mountains for a spectacular sunset over Chechaouen city.
Chefchaouen must be one of the most beautiful cities we have ever been to, and is certainly one of our favourites!
Chefchaouen Medina may not be as bustling and hectic as Fez or Marrakesh, but it must be one the most beautiful in the world. Our walking tour take us down past the Ras El-Maa waterfall, before winding our way up through the medina, along the many narrow blue alleyways and lanes. There is a new, even more beautiful place to photograph around every corner.
We then enter the Chefchaoen Kasbah to find a lush garden, and climb the Kasbah tower for amazing views across the city, Rif Mountains and countryside beyond.
Don't miss the breathtaking sunset over the blue city from the Spanish Mosque. The hike up the mountain is definitely worth the effort.

🌍 Hi, we're Lydia & Chris, the Roving Balys!
🌍As an empty nest couple from Newcastle, Australia, we've traveled the world together for 30 years. We started this vlog to share our travel tales and showcase our beautiful region. We met traveling around Europe in 1995 and have since visited 50+ countries. We love discovering new places, meeting people, and trying local cuisines (including gluten-free options). Our journey has evolved from backpacking to family travel, and now back to couple adventures. With the kids doing their own thing, we're ready to dust off our backpacks (now suitcases) and start new adventures. So grab a cup of coffee and come roving with us!
