Yay, in today's video I'm going to tell you about 20 flowering vines, which look beautiful covering pergolas, making flower arches, supported on a pillar in the house or carried on different types of supports.
I'm sure that after this video you will find an option for flowering climbing plants to plant in the barbecue area, on the balcony, in the pool, in the beach house... because after all, these plants bring a very special charm to gardens!
There are some types of climbing plants and I will tell you about each one of them, so you can identify which one is ideal for the location or support you want to plant.
Voluble Creepers – these are the ones that, as soon as the branches touch an obstacle, curl up in a spiral. Widely used on narrower supports such as wire or fences and railings. When they reach the ceiling of the support and have nowhere else to go, their branches hang down.
Sarmentosa Creepers – have natural fixation organs, they are attached to supports or tutors through tendrils, adventitious roots, self-fixers that make up the entire length of the plant or curved thorns.
Cipó-type vines – they have stiff, long stems, and need to be tied to climb structures. After rising considerably, they begin to arch due to the weight of the leaves and flowers themselves. Having a support to lean on, these vines reach great heights.
Escandente Shrubs – plants with a woody stem, with branches from the base of the stem, but can be trained as a climber, with ties and pruning. It is necessary to prune the weakest branches of the seedling close to the ground, leaving only the 3 or 4 most vigorous. Keep guiding the plant and tying it, supporting it on trellises, pillars or columns.
