Randy and I, along with our lifelong friend, Dan, went to day one of the Great Berea Train Show in Berea, Ohio - outside of Cleveland. I was mainly looking for second-hand MTH, Atlas and Lionel items to purchase. While Dan went crazy on G and N scale, Randy was a little bit more reserved but came away with a structure and some diecast for the layout. I was a little bit disappointed at this year's show and left a little puzzled by the state of train shows in general, so I explain that in the video.

The Lake Erie & Midwestern Railroad is a free-lanced O Scale model railroad that takes place over the last 50 years, or so. Set in the midwest, between Chicago and Pittsburgh, the majority of action occurs in the triangle between Toledo, Cleveland and Columbus, OH. You can find modern fast freights with 6-axle GE and EMD diesels in consist as often as old Alco and Baldwin switchers shoving freight around the spurs to the various industries. It's a great hobby and we're excited to share the progress on the construction of our layout with you.

The Great Berea Train Show, presented by the North Coast Division (Division 4) of the National Model Railroad Association, is the premier model railroad hobby show in the region. In its 48th year the show brings together 700 vendor and display tables spread over 70,000 square feet in 5 buildings. At the show you will find new and used model trains, accessories, and supplies, railroad memorabilia and collectibles, and Historical Societies and Organizations.
