After what has felt like an endless journey of searching, setbacks, and heartache, we have finally found our new home—a stunning 18th-century cottage nestled in the breathtaking Cairngorms National Park. 🏡✨
This journey hasn’t been easy. As many of you know, we had our hearts set on Hillcroft, only to face unforeseen challenges that made it impossible to move forward. From access issues to a local farmer destroying the legal trackway, it felt as though every step forward was met with another roadblock. There were moments when we thought we’d never find the right place, that maybe this dream of ours was slipping through our fingers.
But sometimes, life has a way of surprising you. 💛 Through an unexpected act of kindness, an anonymous benefactor stepped forward, making it possible for us to begin again. Their generosity has opened a door we never thought would be possible, and we are truly, deeply grateful.
And now, we find ourselves here—in the heart of the Cairngorms, a land of misty mountains, rushing rivers, and ancient forests. 🌿⛰️ The raw, untamed beauty of this place is unlike anywhere else. The vast moorlands stretch into the horizon, where the golden heather sways in the wind. The air is crisp, carrying the scent of pine and damp earth, and the rivers carve their way through deep glens, whispering stories of centuries past. This is Scotland in its purest form, and now, somehow, it is home.
We wouldn’t have made it here without all of you.
