### Summary
The video details a teardown of a 4L80E transmission to verify its claimed performance modifications, revealing that many parts are stock and not upgraded as promised.
### Highlights
- 🔧 **Transmission Teardown**: The 4L80E is disassembled to inspect its components for performance upgrades.
- 💰 **Buyer Concerns**: A buyer paid a premium for this transmission, believing it had high-performance parts.
- 🔍 **Input/Output Shaft**: The input and output shafts appear to be stock, contrary to claims of billet upgrades.
- 🔥 **Fluid Analysis**: Burnt fluid indicates potential prior use, raising questions about the transmission's history.
- ⚙️ **Performance Parts**: Limited performance upgrades found; most parts are stock or used.
- 🛠️ **Bushing Condition**: Many bushings are original or worn, suggesting inadequate upgrades.
- 📉 **Reevaluation Needed**: The findings necessitate a reevaluation of the transmission's performance capabilities for the buyer's application.
### Key Insights
- 🔍 **Verification of Claims**: The teardown highlights the importance of verifying performance claims when purchasing modified transmissions. Many buyers assume upgrades are present without confirmation.
- ⚙️ **Stock Components**: The prevalence of stock components in a supposedly high-performance build underscores the risks of misrepresentation in the aftermarket parts market.
- 🔥 **Fluid Condition**: The presence of burnt fluid suggests that the transmission may have been previously installed and used, raising doubts about its reliability.
- 🛠️ **Bushing Importance**: The condition of bushings is critical for transmission performance; worn or original bushings can lead to operational issues and failures.
- 💰 **Cost vs. Value**: Buyers should be cautious about paying premium prices for modified components without documented evidence of the upgrades.
- 🏗️ **Performance Build Standards**: The teardown reveals that performance builds require meticulous attention to detail, including proper part selection and installation to ensure they can handle higher horsepower applications.
- 📉 **Future Modifications**: With most components being stock, significant modifications will be necessary to meet the buyer's desired performance levels, leading to additional costs and efforts.
I was asked to disassamble this #4L80E #transmission that was supposed to being built as a high #performance, high #horsepower unit. Well, came to find out that this unit was'nt even built for that kind of power as the owner of this transmission is planning on using it.
I really did'nt wanted to film this but I did per his request. We will be improving this transmission to handle the kind of power that he intends to push through this transmission.
