ah, another old classic...

hi loves! 💙
so a while ago, this very video got blocked worldwide (screw you copyright!) and with a lot of videos and real life responsibilities in the way the thought of re-editing this video slowly slipped my mind. but as i was doing my play m and kingdom gb's i have this drive to give this video a little caring to as well. i worked really hard to research this video and it'd be a shame not to share it with you guys especially to the some of you who wanted to get into chinese music, so just as ok go once said: here it goes again!
the chinese music scene is quite an interesting one to look at, as it doesn't even come from only one country. there are many countries with thriving c-pop scenes such as china, taiwan, hong kong, malaysia and singapore to name a few, and some of c-pop's biggest stars hail from many parts of the earth. the c-pop scene also consists of songs that are sung in multiple dialects of the chinese language too like mandarin, cantonese, hokkien and many more. this makes the c-pop scene such a unique music scene (once you can overcome the GIGANTIC language barrier, which may hinder many from getting into c-pop in the first place)
now, here's the part i would add the disclaimers section, but you guys can just refer to it from the last video (which is also genre related) ahahahaha
i would love to talk more about c-pop on this channel, as it is one of the things that defined my musical dna (especially chinese ballads like sheesh), as well as share my love for it more often. right now, i'm trying to foster my love deeper for it by going through the albums of some of my absolute favorite c-pop artists (yen j, claire guo, hebe tian and andrew tan are some of the ones i intended to catch up on) cus i've been kinda in and out of the scene and don't keep up with it as often as i used to, so i'm trying to rekindle that spark.

i'll see you all soon in the next video, till then, stay safe and as always, be excellent to each other! 🧡

footnotes: i swear if this video gets blocked again i'll have to throw some hands and set something on fire...
also i might do a 2nd version of my k-pop genres video by adding more genres and including more accurate songs to represent them, so stay tuned everyone! ^^
