A 4K, Drivers eye view. Newport (Maindee Loop) to Bristol T.M. A covid lockdown entertainment film.
Here we have the final part of our (4K) journey from Maindee Loop (Newport) to Bristol Temple Meads via the Severn Tunnel. This feature commences heading onto the South Wales Main Line heading East past Llanwern Steel works to Severn Tunnel Junction before heading through the Severn Tunnel which is over four miles long before surfacing again at Pilning passing around the back of the new Hitachi depot at Stoke Gifford before descending down Filton Bank to our destination. This was filmed on board LSL TOC LTD Brush type 4 Sulzer loco number 47805 in July 2020 in between the first Covid-19 lockdown and the current lockdown we now find ourselves having to endure. It is hoped this brings some small relief for the current situation.
Here is some footage of the move as it decends down Filton Bank.
