It is located in a more remote area than Oori, which we introduced earlier, and may be the most remote village in the area.
It is perhaps the most remote of all the villages in this area. The scenery was strikingly different from that of Oori, which still retained its beautiful scenery, and was almost completely swallowed up by nature.
There was another nearby village called Myoyuki, but it seems that Myoyuki became a sub-division of Buna in the Meiji period (1868-1912).
Even deep in the mountains, stonewalls built by our ancestors still remain, and I am overwhelmed every time I see them.
Especially, the stonewalls of Myoko are worth seeing.
