What does it mean to be happy in North Korea?
It’s a question I’ve asked myself hundreds of times before deciding to enter North Korea and trying to ask the locals. This is the last episode of my unforgettable adventure in the most isolated country in the world and, even if, it hasn’t been easy at all, I managed to ask the big question to the only North Koreans I was allowed to speak with: my two wonderful “Guirds”.
Although culturally very different, and some misunderstanding due to my insatiable curiosity, I can say that I met two wonderful young women in North Korea. Two friends who, with high probability, I won’t hear from anymore for the rest of my life. For now, their gentle answers are one of the fondest memories of my journey.
