Once again the WICC Greatest Bluefish Tournament will take place again this weekend and plenty of gator bluefish are throughout the Sound to make the competition interesting. We’ve gotten reports of mid-teen fish from the western end all the way out to the Gut, where the boundaries end. Fluking in South Shore bays is steady with a lot of action and some keepers in the mix while Montauk is seeing a better shot at quality fish to around 10 pounds. Jumbo porgies also hit the Montauk grounds with a healthy mix of sea bass. Stripers still remain active east of Montauk near Block Island.
