BACK IN BLACK! Saga Storm is back in Legacy, and it’s mono-black! With the banning of Vexing Bauble, there’s no need to splash green for Veil of Summer, giving the deck a more consistent and powerful mana base. This list features multiple overlapping combos: Echo of Eons pairs beautifully with Orcish Bowmasters for lots of damage (AND A LARGE ORC!), while Beseech the Mirror enables explosive plays with Gaea’s Will. Additionally, the sideboard tech of Leyline of the Void and Helm of Obedience provides another sweet line against graveyard strategies.
The deck capitalizes on Urza’s Saga, not only as a source of constructs but also as a toolbox for finding critical artifacts like Lion’s Eye Diamond or Haywire Mite. With explosive mana generation from rituals like Dark Ritual and efficient disruption through discard spells, Saga Storm maintains a balance of speed, resilience, and power.
