On this trip, we will driving through the beautiful Baiyang Valley Scenic Area.
Baiyang Valley (Chinese: 白羊沟 )
Located in Changping District, about 50 km Northwest of Downtown Beijing.
It is about 15 km in length, connected with the ruins of the historic Song Dynasty Ancient Great Wall, and has been an important pass since ancient times.
During the Ming Dynasty in 1520, a fortress named Baiyangcheng was constructed at the narrowest point between two mountains at the mouth of a valley, serving as a crucial defense post for the capital. The valley itself came to be known as Baiyang Valley due to the presence of Baiyangcheng. This area is characterized by its ancient city ruins, tranquil rural roads, and serene mountain villages, offering the best depiction of this area.
