When you go grocery shopping at T & T Supermarket in Richmond, B.C. you can also enjoy delicious street food, snack foods and Chinese dishes in their full set up kitchen. They also serve Chinese bbq meats and Asian drinks as part of their food service. I got a chance to try their authentic Tianjin jian bing, their stuffed rice roll with 4 toppings and their traditional congee with preserved duck eggs.
They have a dining area where you can eat thier kitchen prepared specialty foods while you do your shopping in their supermarket.
Note: When I was eating the jian bing, I mentioned eating it with a "crispy crapper" at least twice. I definitely said it, but I meant "crispy cracker" both times. I had a good laugh when a viewer told me about it but I do apologize for the gaffe.

In the second part of this video, I visit in my opinion, the best congee noodle restaurant in Hong Kong called Nathan Congee Noodle House. They have been serving satisfied customers for many decades. There are 5 reasons that I use to judge the congee. Do you agree with my 5 reasons?

In the third part of my video, I share my recipe for making congee 米粥食谱 It's a time tested recipe I learned from my mom and dad that I would like to share. The recipe is below:

HOW TO MAKE CONGEE (Rice Porridge) 米粥食谱

ratio: 1 cup rice per 10 cups water

20 cups water
2 cup rice
3 pieces ginger

Wash rice in cold water 4 to 5 times, or until water is clear. Fill big pot with water. Add ginger. Add pork and/or chicken bones. Bring water to a boil at medium to high heat. Once water is boiling, turn down to low to medium heat. Cover with a lid and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or more. Just before serving add your favorite topping, such as sliced beef, pork, prawns, 1000 year old duck eggs, etc. Serve congee in serving bowl or individual bowls. Top with green onions. Enjoy!
