Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways
In this video we go back to August 2024 during our visit to our friends at The North Norfolk Railway as we saw in steam for the 1st time since construction was competed in the spring of the same year The Betton Grange Society's new build steam locomotive 6880 Betton Grange.
We capture him from on board & from the lineside which during the time was the star of the railway's Bank Holiday Steam Gala & The Festival of Rails Events.
During the making of these films shots 6880 Betton Grange was borrowing the 3500 collect tender from The Foxcote Manor Society's 7822 Foxcote Manor while she is currently undergoing an overhaul at Tyseley's Locomotive Works.
This was to enable the grange to enter service more quickly while Betton's own tender is getting built.
Conditions for our shots of the grange was perfect with brilliant sunshine throughout the week while we were there.
We are hoping to see the Grange later on during 2025 which by the time this video goes up 6880 Betton Grange will be spending the year as a resident on The Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway as announced by the society.
