Box Turtle | Part 8 - AFC-Klipper-Add-On Installation, Config, Testing

Today we installed the AFC-Klipper-Add-On software and reviewed the configuration files required to make the Box Turtle work with our printer. We then performed some baseline tests to ensure the Box Turtle was operating appropriately. In my case, I am having issues with the re-spooler motors (small N20 motors at the front of each lane). We proceeded with configuring our Orca Slicer profiles and attemtping to print the 'Cereal' print which is an ArmoredTurtle logo in four colors.

This revealed several other configuration issues with the basic macros that needed to be updated and tweaked. I am glad we were able to go through this process on the stream as there will be some configurations needed to tailor the open source Box Turtle Automated Filament Changer (AFC) to any Klipper-based printer.

Please note that these same tweaks and tuning are required of the BambluLab AMS or Prusa MMU3 solutions but they are factory tuned to work with their printer ecosystem. Open Source projects needs to tunable to work with various hardware/software combinations an WILL require user inputs to work effectively and efficiently.
