Today I look at 3 of the plants that have performed the best in my UK tropical garden this year - the most tropical flowers, the most exotic foliage or the strongest jungle vibes for the least amount of money! Following the principles of my Budget Tropical Garden video earlier in the year I've tried a few new plants, grown a lot from seed and also returned to a few tropical garden staples - these are the ones that have proved themselves despite a shorter and cooler summer this year and should definitely feature in your tropical garden! Musa basjoo, Salvia 'Amistad' and Nasturtiums are three plants that definitely come recommended and give a lot of tropical effect for the money!
