In this video, we’re racing against the weather to build a winter room on my fifth wheel in just one day! With help from my friend Jeff, we set up walls, frame the structure, and make it watertight to keep us cozy through the colder months. This add-on room will house a wood stove, giving us extra warmth and much-needed space to dry out gear. Watch as we power through, even with some minor injuries and unexpected challenges!
Key moments:
1. Setting up the walls and framing for winter.
2. Adjusting the joists to avoid blocking solar panels.
3. Securing the space with insulation and preparing for the wood stove.
4. Planning out skirting to protect the trailer in upcoming videos.
Questions for you:
- What’s your best tip for building a temporary shelter or add-on room for winter?
- How do you keep your off-grid setup warm during the cold months?
- Have you ever had to tackle a big project in just one day? How did it go?
