Full title: How HDR Architecture Profits from Utilizing Interactive Technologies, and How They Benefit Our Clients
For many years, AR and VR technologies at HDR were limited to marketing and generating “wow” factor for clients and the public. In the past several years, these and similar technologies have gained significant traction in the industry and clients have become more aware of their value in the industry. As a result, many more contracts now have line items for interactive visualization technologies. This has afforded HDR the ability to profit from these solutions and benefit our clients by providing them with various opportunities to experience the design and leverage these visualizations for philanthropy, space planning, and cost savings by empowering them to make informed decisions earlier in the process.
Through several case studies of technology-centric visualization solutions at HDR, this presentation will review some of the opportunities to utilize interactive visualization. Additionally, we will review why various technologies were chosen, why others weren’t, how they were developed at a high level, in-house development versus SaaS options, and how the final products were of benefit to HDR’s clients. Utilized software that will be discussed at a high level include: A-Frame, WebGL, Unity, Unreal Engine, D5 and Enscape. Hardware deployment solutions will include desktop/ laptop, mobile iOS and Android, Meta Quest.
