CFAR's BIC, IS, and Health Equity presents Donald Gerke, PhD, MSW

Dr. Donny Gerke joins us in person from University of Alabama at Birmingham. He will discuss his evaluation of a multi-component text-messaging strategy designed to increase engagement in care and viral suppression among young adults with HIV at risk for poor HIV outcomes. He will also present his current work to adapt the text-messaging strategy for HIV prevention/PrEP context, including the difficulty in addressing social determinants of health from a status neutral perspective in the current political context and service landscape.
