国際交流基金（JF）は、オンラインで開催された、朝日地球会議2021『希望と行動が世界を変える』において、特別共催として2021年10月17日（日）に対談・パネルディスカッションを実施しました。第1部では、アメリカの政治哲学者マイケル・サンデル教授と生物学者の福岡伸一教授が、分野を超えて、コロナ後の時代に求められる「新しい知」について議論を繰り広げました。
第2部では、福岡教授に東京工業大学未来の人類研究センター長の伊藤亜紗教授と新公益連盟の白井智子代表理事が加わり、多様な社会における他者との向き合い方や関わり合い方をより身近な意識で、それぞれの立場から意見を共有し合いしました。
コロナ禍の影響で変化する社会のあり方や他者との関わり方などを、視聴者の方と一緒に考える内容です。
The Japan Foundation (JF) co-organized two special sessions with The Asahi Shimbun Company at the Asahi World Forum 2021 on Sunday, October 17, 2021. The main theme of the 2021 Forum was “Hope with Action Can Change the World.”
The first session was a cross-disciplinary dialogue between Dr. Michael Sandel, a political philosopher and professor at Harvard University, and Dr. FUKUOKA Shin-Ichi, a molecular biologist and professor of Aoyama Gakuin University. The panelists examined the changing nature of society and offered pivotal insights into “new intellect” as we navigate out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the second session, Dr. Fukuoka was joined by Dr. ITO Asa, Director of the Future of Humanity Research Center of Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Ms. SHIRAI Tomoko, Representative Director of the Japan Association of New Public. The panelists shared their views on how to engage with others in a diverse society and discussed altruism in the contexts of education and disability care.
