Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of White Zombie. White Zombie formed in New York City in 1985 and was originally an experimental noise-rock band in the early days, but once they shifted gears and moved toward a groove metal style/sound in the early 1990s, they exploded in popularity and paved the way for other bands that borrowed their style/sound in the future. This era also cemented Rob Zombie's career as a solo artist when White Zombie officially broke up in 1998.

This lesson is perfect for not only Metal Month on the LNL channel, but it also hits the horror-related theme that I try and target during the month of October, and White Zombie always included samples and song titles connected with various horror films, novels, and related imagery.

The riffs and chord-based examples found in this lesson were pulled from their popular albums 'La Sexorcisto Devil Music Vol. 1' and 'Astro-Creep: 2000,' and while both of these albums were very popular, the examples featured in this lesson are lesser-known and deep cut "fan favorites" from the group. This includes songs such as 'Starface,' 'Spiderbaby,' 'Cosmic Monsters Inc.,' 'Blur The Technicolor,' 'Blood Milk And Sky,' 'I Am Legend,' and more!

If you're a White Zombie fan searching for more riffs/info surrounding the mysterious (and MIA) guitarist Jay Yuenger or a metal player simply looking for some new ideas, sinister chords, and unusual directions from the norm - this is your lesson!
