Leading up to this games release I’d had so many great memories with this franchise. MegaMan was my absolute favorite childhood series and I couldn’t wait to see what was in store next for him. But after MegaMan and Bass released Classic MegaMan sorta disappeared and It wasn’t til a decade later well into my 20s did I finaly here of this game coming out. I grew up playing the Nes games and I just got a small taste of 16 and 32 bit MegaMan so in my mind the possibilities were endless. MM9 releases and we are going back to the Nes? We also now have no slide or charge shot as if Mega has robo-nesia! I understand MM2 is regarded as one of the greatest in the series but some of what made this franchise of games so damn satisfying is the amazing level design utilized with these mechanics and specifics in mind. I’m fine with 8-bit but don’t compensate gameplay for nostalgia. This digression greatly takes away from the total overall experience and the tight plat forming that makes the nes games so good !
