The Dogwood Trail in Sand Run Metro Park can be accessed from the North Hawkins Area parking lot off of North Hawkins Avenue. The trail is a 1.9 mile loop that dips down into the valley before climbing back up to the ridge. There is some topography and the trail is of moderate difficulty.

The trail has peaceful views of forested areas and some lowlands by Sand Run. It parallels a road for a short section, but the majority of the trail is within woods.

The hike was recorded mid-day on February 4th, 2025. It was a partly sunny day, and the park was mostly empty. The trail was icy and slick in parts, and the overnight freezes make slipping a real risk if you aren't careful.
