Cognitive Dissonance: The scientific evidence for the LCHF is so strong. Why then is it ignored?
Dr Michael Eades
Summary: The introduction of farming and agriculture in the Middle East approximately 12 000 years ago was associated with an immediate reduction in human height and health. This was especially shown by the diseased bodies of the Ancient Egyptian mummies who followed an almost identical eating plan to that prescribed as the modern “heart healthy” low fat diet. In my presentation I will present this archaeological evidence as it relates to our modern dietary choices, supplemented with evidence from randomized controlled clinical trials comparing low carbohydrate and low fat diets which show the superiority of the low carbohydrate diets in the management of a range of medical conditions especially obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus. I will also suggest reasons why I believe this information continues to be ignored by the medical profession and other health care providers.
