Shibanyan（Chinese: 石板岩小镇）
This is a small village with a long history and beautiful scenery.
Located 22 Km away from the northwest of Linzhou City, Henan Province, it is in the midst of the deep mountain canyons of the South Taihang Mountains.
Shibanyan means slate-like rock.
The name comes from the fact that there are a lot of slate rocks in the local mountains.
A large number of slate house buildings have been preserved here, which are made of local materials, warm in winter and cool in summer, and have become a unique cultural symbol of the region.
The village is located in the Taihang Mountains, with magnificent mountains, canyons, waterfalls and streams, and is known as “China's Painted Valley”.
The highway from Linzhou City to Shibanyan is also known as the Linshi Line. Is one of China's “Ten Most Beautiful Rural Roads” with picturesque scenery along the way. And that's the same highway we're traveling on this trip.
