A Christmas project for the Edwardians, as well as the Victorians, which was popular from 1890 to 1914 was making homemade Christmas ornaments using vibrant Die-cuts, known as Scrap. These Scrap papers could be purchased in 8x10 sheets and consisted of beautiful images of animals and people, angels and father Christmas. Gorgeous Dresden papers were also available to the Edwardians, most imported from Germany. From these papers, glue, ribbon and filigree the imaginative Edwardians created some stunning Christmas treasures. We will be making these today, using the same papers that our ancestors had access to. While a pot of Chicken and Dumplings simmers on the stove, using a recipe from a 1912 cookbook.
