Mochi (rice cake) pounding, a regular event for grandparents, is back again.
The rice cake pounding machine was busy at full speed again this time.

We made three kinds of mochi this time ,regular mochi, mochi with homemade red bean paste, and mochi with ground black sesame seeds.
It's our first time to use ground black sesame seeds, and the whole time we were making mochi, the aroma of black sesame seeds was wafting through the air.
The vacuum-packed rice cake is the only hardened rice cake. Soft rice cakes would be crushed.
It is basically cool in this region, but if there is room in the freezer, we keep the vacuum-packed ones in there and usually eat them up in about one to two months.
