Even though my split cup holds 60 ounces of paint, I did not fill it up all the way. We only needed about 30 ounces for this size canvas, so I filled it about halfway. I like using the big cup for bigger canvases, rather than filling a smaller cup multiple times. I enjoy using all the different sizes I have, they are all just tools for your toolbox.
Because the Paynes Grey and Bordeaux both dry fairly dark, I wanted to make sure to use several lighter colors to create contrast within the pour.
I used a small Dixie cup to 'lip' or wreck the pour, it created some more dimension, and brought more of the colors into play.
I do tilt off a lot of paint, mostly because I enjoy opening up the pour and seeing what is hidden in between the layers.
To figure out how much paint you need, simply multiply the length of the canvas by the width of the canvas, and then divide by 28. For example,
for a 12 x12 : 12 x12 = 144. 144 divided by 28 is 5.14 ounces. So you would need about 5 ounces of paint to cover. I always recommend mixing a little more paint, just in case you need to fix something of pour again.

Regarding the fires in LA: There are no new fires burning anywhere near us at the moment. We are absolutely fine. We are so thankful for all the amazing firefighters and first responders who have been taking such good care of us here in LA. You are truly heroes!
