In this video we’re leaving Bangkok and heading to some of Thailand’s best beaches! The island we’re going to is called Koh Chang, which is located in the south-east of Thailand. Koh Chang isn’t on many people’s radar when it comes to the best beach destinations in Thailand, despite being Thailand's third biggest island. We quickly fell in love with the island and its relaxed vibe!
To get to Koh Chang we took a bus to Trat and from there we took a ferry to the island. It didn’t all go as planned, but we made it in the end and had some great Pad Thai in between! Once on Koh Chang, we took some time to relax at the beach, explore the island via scooter, visited some waterfalls (which were slightly disappointing as it’s currently dry season) and went snorkelling around the island’s reefs.

What's next?
We'll be spending a few weeks in Thailand, before continuing to our next country in Asia, which will probably be Sri Lanka. And then? We'll see!

Some background information on our trip to Thailand (travel in 2022):
Travel isn't very straightforward right now and there are quite a few challenges to overcome and entry requirements to fulfil, so you should always do your own research and check the current situation and regulations before you go.We're visiting Thailand with the "Test & Go" program, which was put on hold, but is being resumed again in February 2022. Check the official websites regularly to stay up to date!
With the Test & Go program we needed a negative PCR test to enter the country and we also needed to apply for a "Thailand Pass". To apply for the Thailand Pass we needed to book a Test & Go package with a certified hotel. This package includes a one night stay, a PCR test on arrival, transportation to the hotel and three meals for our stay. After receiving the results of this PCR test, we were free to travel around the country (as long as the regulations in the region allow this). 5-6 days after arrival we'll also need to take another PCR test (free of charge) and upload the result to the official Thai tracking app. IMPORTANT: For the "new" Test & Go program that's starting in February 2022 it might be necessary to book a stay in another certified hotel for the second PCR test - always check the current regulations online!
