This week, I'm creating some stepped shapes that have been circulating in my head for some time now. Tiered forms, sculptural vessels, made from one block of clay as opposed to fashioning two separate thrown components together, I always prefer the simpler method that doesn't involved scoring and slipping and praying the pots don't crack. This is followed by the waxing, glazing and the nine-hour reduction firing to cone ten, (1290ºC). I hope you're ready for failure after failure.
ALSO, I'm going to be updating my online shop on 24 November at 7:00 pm GMT, (https://www.floriangadsby.com/shop). This is my winter restock, it tends to sell out within 5-6 minutes, so make sure you're there on time if you are interested in obtaining something.
Thanks for watching!
