In this video, I share the three biggest reasons why I left Protestantism and entered the Orthodox Church—reasons rooted in history, meaning, and love.

1. Sola Scriptura Is a Modern Invention
The idea that the Bible alone is the sole authority for Christians didn’t exist in the early Church. The canon of Scripture wasn’t even finalized until centuries after Christ. Early Christians relied on tradition, liturgy, and apostolic succession. Without the Church, there would be no Bible.

2. Symbolism, Icons, and the Recovery of Meaning
Orthodoxy reoriented how I see the world—from cold rationalism and literalism to a vision rooted in meaning, mystery, and Logos. Icons, liturgy, and the sacraments aren’t man-made rituals—they’re how God reveals Himself to us. Christ is not an abstract idea; He is made manifest in the physical world through these signs.

3. God’s Love: The Eastern vs. Western View
In much of Western theology, God’s love is often presented as transactional—focused on satisfying wrath. But the Orthodox view is radically different: God is love. Christ came not to pay a legal debt, but to unite humanity to Himself. Salvation is not a courtroom—it’s a healing, a union, a transformation.

This isn’t just about switching denominations—it’s about rediscovering the fullness of the ancient Christian faith. If you've ever questioned modern assumptions or felt that something was missing, I hope this offers clarity and encouragement.
