Welcome back!

I don't have a finished quilt, or newly started projects, so I thought we'd have a bit more of a chat this week!

First, I (oops) have acquired another big box of fabric from the Free Day held by a local church. They have all sorts of donated household items, but I go for the fabrics; I got more shirts, plus sheets, pillowcases, and a duvet cover which I'm very excited to use! I know I have enough shirts already, but it makes me so happy to know that I kept these things out of a landfill and repurposed them into something that might get more use and love.

I have been hand quilting on my Anything Goes quilt (pattern by Missouri Star) which I haven't shown since I first began piecing it. It should be a finished quilt next week, as long as my cat stops sleeping on it long enough for me to get some quilting time.

Finally, I wanted to share my thoughts on "scrap quilts." I don't have a cut-and-dry definition for what I think makes a quilt scrappy, but I do have some thoughts and questions about my own, and wonder whether or not other people would categorize them the same way that I do. I think "scrappy" is a term which we all define differently-- which is ok!-- and just wanted to share how I personally think about it.

I hope you are all getting a lot done in your sewing rooms this week!

Happy quilting!
