In this video I show how to use selective surfacing when performing the auto surfacing function. Selective surfacing is an alternative workflow to manually making a copy of the mesh, defeaturing the copy, then auto surfacing the copy. From there engineered features could be modeled on the original mesh, resulting in what we would call a hybrid CAD model. Hybrid models are typically organic shapes that also have modeled features based on sketches. With selective surfacing you can either use Regions or 3D Mesh sketches to establish the boundaries of the auto-surfacing. Additional options let you decide whether to create a Solid or Surface Body. After creating a Surface Body, I show creating additional surfaces to create an enclosed volume of the intersecting surfaces. The Solidify command trims all of the surfaces together to create a single Solid Body.
