The Jeep was drafted in World War II and soon became the American soldier's best friend. The unusual looking vehicle was used as a combat car, postal carrier, snowplow and ambulance. It could forge a stream, dig trenches, churn the water in a washtub and serve as a wedding altar. After the war, it was thought this amazing vehicle would fade away like an old soldier. But today Jeep-like SUV’s are among the world's top sellers and Jeeps refuse to fade away.
