Video Not Working? Fix It Now

On June 4, 2020, the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad became the first place in the Southeast to operate steam following the pandemic shutdowns. I arrived at the Bryson City depot just in time to watch the first departure, and was delighted to see that the train seemed as full as social distancing would allow. Soon the train was off, and the other chasers and myself had a great time following 1702 into the gorge. As always, the S160 put on a stunning display climbing the steep grade towards Nantahala siding. I returned on the 13th for a second chase - this video combines both days in geographical order. Finally getting to see, hear, and smell some steam again for the first time in six months was simply fantastic.

Shoutout to Stevewivibeevy and Steam Z who were there for the entire opening weekend.
