Day 2 of practice for my Columbia River bass fishing tournament took an unexpected turn. I started the day targeting smallmouth and caught a few early on, dialing in spots for the upcoming event. But then, something massive picked up my bait — and the fight that followed was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. For 25 minutes, I was towed in my Old Town Sportsman 106 PDL kayak by what I believe was a giant sturgeon. Using my Humminbird Helix 7, I had marked deep structure, and that’s where it all went down. Whether you’re into tournament bass fishing or just wild on-the-water moments, this one’s worth watching.
