Summer in Yunnan is either hot or rainy, which makes people long for something hot and sour. The sour taste we like basically comes from fruits, mostly sour papaya and lemon. Today we’re making sour papaya chicken rice noodles and pea jelly, both of which are appetizing and refreshing! Grandpa fell out with his card friends and has been staying at home for two weeks. So I’ve made cold rice shrimp that he loves and given some to his card friends as a good gesture. Grandpa is very stubborn, and has really decided not to play cards with them~
