Blue Lock and Classrom of the Elite are two very popular, quite... edgy series. Isagi and Ayanokoji are also two very popular, "inspiring", "motivating" characters in the anime world.
However, whilst one is very well written, very self-reflective and considers the nuance of the ideas it puts forward, the other doesn't really have any ideas at all. Ayanokoji's behaviour honestly feels like a teenage fantasy at times, whereas Isagi's is far more grounded in reality. It's genuinely inspiring and for good reasons instead of... delusional ones.
Blue Lock's motivation is nuanced, it's willling to dive right into the depths of its philsophy, whereaeas COTE not only seems to lack much to discuss, but also fails to be as good at its own premise as comparable series like Squid Games and Kaiji.
