Last week, the Mercedes AMG-One set a new lap record at the Nürburgring in Germany. Setting a record time of 6 minutes and 29 seconds. Beating the previous record from 2022, also held by the AMG-One, by 6 seconds.
There's a lot of incredible technology in this car, but the most interesting thing about it is undoubtedly the engine. For the first time ever, a manufacturer has put a real Formula 1 power unit into a road legal car.
In today's video I wanted to dig into how that was possible, and some of the changes that Mercedes-AMG had to make to take this 1,000 horsepower engine from the track to the streets.
