Today's video is a mini-course in how to distress, degloss, and age magazine pages to use in your work – your art journals, junk journals, collage, altered books, and other mixed media projects. If you've seen my videos you know that I tend to use original vintage paper and other pieces in my work but recently I learned a technique that changed the way I look at humble magazine pages and how to turn them into gorgeous, distressed, one of a kind beautiful pages.

This is Part 1 and it it includes techniques for taking the shiny gloss off of your papers, adding coffee or ink wash for a patina, overpainting, and adding texture with stencils.
