How to make the classic Margarita Cocktail |🍸 Más que Rico

The margarita is a cocktail composed of tequila, triple sec and lime or lemon juice. It is often served with salt on the rim of the glass. The drink is served shaken over ice (on the rocks), mixed with ice (frozen margarita), or without ice (upside down). Although it has become acceptable to serve a margarita in a wide variety of glass containers, ranging from cocktails and wine glasses and even large schooners, the drink is traditionally served in the eponymous margarita glass, a stepped-diameter variant of a cocktail glass or champagne glass, something similar to an inverted hat.

Flavored liquors
In addition to Cointreau, other orange-flavored liqueurs are used such as Grand Marnier or other brands of triple sec or blue Curaçao (which produces the blue daisy). When sweet fruit juices are added to the margarita, the orange juice is often reduced or eliminated entirely. In addition to orange-flavored liqueurs, there are other liqueurs that can be added to the cocktail from time to time, such as raspberry or melon. Other flavors include pineapple and watermelon.

fresh lime juice
Freshly squeezed lime juice is the key ingredient. The most common variety in the United States is the thick-skinned Persian file. However, margaritas in Mexico are usually made with acidic lime, which are called "lemons" in Mexico (and vice versa, by the way). These are small, thin-skinned and are more acidic compared to Persian limes. Margaritas made with Persian lime have a milder flavor, especially when Meyer limes are used.

frozen margarita

Daisies come in a variety of flavors and colors.
In addition to being served shaken and "up" like other cocktails, margaritas can also be served as a blended ice slushie, similar to other tropical-inspired drinks like the hurricane or pina colada. This variant is known as a "frozen" margarita. The ingredients can be poured over crushed ice in a kitchen or industrial blender. A large quantity of frozen margarita based on a "house recipe" can be held in a machine designed specifically for that purpose (but also commonly used to serve non-alcoholic beverages). Such a machine is usually a cylinder leading to a pour spout that is kept below freezing temperature, but with an impeller inside the cylinder that constantly agitates the mixture so that it never freezes, dispensing drinks with a texture of sleet. The first frozen margarita machine was invented on May 11, 1971 in Dallas by restaurateur Mariano Martínez. The machine was originally a soft serve ice cream machine and is now housed in the Smithsonian National History Museum.1

Other fruits
Fruit and alternative juice blends can also be used in a margarita. Fruits such as mango, peach, strawberry, banana, melon, or raspberry are suitable for creating this drink. Many recipes call for a splash of orange juice. Today, the margarita can be prepared in many different ways. When the word "margarita" is used by itself, it usually refers to one prepared with salt and lemon juice, but when other juices are used, the fruits are typically added as adjectives to the name, such as the raspberry margarita. Other daisy varieties include fruit, top shelf daisy, and virgin daisy.

It was invented in Tehuacán Puebla, Mexico, in 1936. The manager of the Hotel Garci-Crespo (Danny Negrete) decided to create a drink for his girlfriend who liked salt so much that he took it with everything he drank. . One day, Danny frosted the edge of her glass with salt, and combined tequila, cointreau, and lemon juice. He then stirred the concoction and filled his girlfriend's cup. That girl tried the first Margarita in history.
