Wool fleece usually needs to be scoured (washed) before it can be dyed. In this video I'm quickly demonstrating my method for scouring raw fleece in preparation for dyeing. I'm working with only part of a fleece – before starting you should make sure the fleece is skirted, so any particularly matted or soiled areas are removed.
This is the first part in a series of videos on fibre processing, following along as I prepare fibres for spinning into yarn ready for weaving or knitting.
