Hwarang 郞 is a mental and physical training and educational organization consisting of youth and youth in ancient Silla. It is called mental and physical training, and in fact, its main purpose was to cultivate soldiers from the early days of its establishment until the Unified Silla Dynasty, when the war disappeared.
As can be seen from the purpose of organizing the whole body's original works, Hwarang was created to bring together talents (Nangdo) from all over the country as the charm of Hwarang. It was a role to strengthen solidarity and educate these gathered talents through the joint life of Hwarang and Nangdo under the leadership of Hwarang, and to appoint those with excellent abilities to Silla's soldiers, that is, civil servants. In other words, it was also a system for training bureaucrats that combined education and selection. This purpose of education and talent has played a part since the establishment of Korean Studies in 682, but has continued to function as a traditional educational system until the end of Silla.
As the meaning of Hwarang is "a flower-like man," not only inner training but also appearance was considered important, so it was not just a training group but also an idol representing the country and a promotional ambassador in modern times. Meanwhile, in the 6th and 7th centuries when Hwarang was founded, Silla mobilized and participated in the role of reserve soldiers and school soldiers in an emergency situation because wars with neighboring countries continued and security was very unstable.

🔖 This Ambience made a video on the theme of a study room where members of Hwarangdo, the group that led the revival of ancient Silla, trained and studied mind and body :) Hwarang is a group that had a great influence on the power of the country, including King Taejong, Kim Chun-chu, and Kim Yu-shin. Why don't you study with the handsome cadets who did not neglect to learn even in rainy weather, which existed more in the past than in Joseon? Listening to the sound of raindrops falling under the eaves and the footsteps of the cadets passing behind me, I think I will be able to concentrate more on my study without realizing it!
