In this video, I share my personal journey from a struggling student in Croatia to attending MIT and Harvard and why I ultimately decided to quit my Ph.D. program. I talk about the early challenges I faced, my achievements, and my intense focus on getting admitted to MIT. Despite achieving this dream, I realized that my true goal was to prove to myself and others that I could do it, rather than the Ph.D. itself. This realization, coupled with my growing interest in a startup venture, led me to decide to quit the Ph.D. program. I discuss my experiences at MIT and Harvard, how I found happiness in pursuing my startup, and offer advice to those considering doing a Ph.D., suggesting that they should only pursue a Ph.D. if they are certain about a career in research.
