I visit Coxen Hole, the capital of the island of Roatan in Honduras. I walk its streets, taste its street food and talk to its people. The area is very safe but undeveloped and maintains the traditional style in its architecture and lifestyle. The people of Coxen Hole maintain the influence of the Afro-English culture, including the food (such as corn rice and fried pork with green banana slices) and the English language. There is a port here where cruise ships disembark and the first impression tourists have of the island is of Coxen Hole.
