Melissa graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989 and has since worked as ride veterinarian in over 100 endurance rides including the Old Dominion, Tevis and AERC National Championship Ride. She began competing in AERC rides as a junior rider in 1976 and now has over 19,000 AERC miles including completing 46 one hundred mile endurance rides. Melissa is also an avid Ride and Tie competitor and trail runner. In 2009 she was honored to receive the coveted Haggin Cup at the Western States Trail Ride (Tevis). She will be monitoring the health status of your horse while in training, evaluating how your horse is adapting to the conditioning program, and advising you on how to best maintain your horses health while training for and competing in endurance rides.
