When the Super Nintendo first came out, there just weren't very many two player games. Even games like F-Zero and Final Fight were single player only! Players that liked playing with a friend would have to wait until Data East brought us Joe & Mac.
Joe & Mac started out in the arcade as "Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja", but for the Super Nintendo version, Data East completely redesigned the game with a home console experience in mind.
